• give the audience more info, let the audience be ahead of all the characters
• so when one character is lying to another, we know what he is thinking, can read between the lines
• we know what kendall did
• kendall's brother and sister don't know what he did
• so audience know more than the brother and sister
• so when kendall interacts with his brother and sister, the audience is ahead of the game

halt and catch fire / ghost protocol / the two towers / naked director / attack on titan / argo

• something unexpected happens, the bomb doesn't go off as planned
• some new obstacle comes up, helm's deep wall is broken
• some new conflict comes up, director runs out of money, his money is stolen
• some new competition arises, someone copies their giant computer invention
• some new loss happens, different ways to lose the battle, like the new titan armor shield, like the woman titan eating eren and escapes
• some odds just get worse and worse, project gets pulled, president disapproves, but they still do it anyways

eyes wide shut

• the structure, the set, the color, is all part of the theme
• the party where everyone is unmasked, has christmas decoration, everywhere has christmas decoration, like the streets of new york, stands for the innocent
• the mansion party where everyone is masked. the red carpet in the mansion, the red pool table in the room, stands for the swamp, the red pill, the enlightened, the not innocent
